Solar eclipse: Govt holiday on Oct 25 – Daily Pioneer

The State Government on Saturday declared October 25 (Tuesday) as a public holiday on account of solar eclipse.
As per a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), all Government offices, educational institutions, courts and banks and other financial institutions will remain closed on October 25.
This partial solar eclipse, which is the last one of the year, will be visible in all the States in the country.
As per the Hindu almanac, the eclipse will begin at 4.56 pm and will be at its peak at 5.43 pm. It will remain for a period of one hour and 30 minutes lasting till 6.26 pm.
There will be no rituals at temples from 4.57 am onwards on October 25. The preparation and intake of food will be strictly avoided during the period. The religious rituals will resume after 6.32 pm on October 25 following a ritual bath.
