PITTSBURGH, Pa. –  The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking to hire TSA officers at Pittsburgh International Airport and is participating in an upcoming career fair at the University of Pittsburgh, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 30, on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh in the William Pitt Union building.
There are currently openings for both full- and part-time positions with a starting salary of  $17.44 per hour. TSA offers new employees opportunities for pay increases after six months.
The recruitment event, which is exclusively for Pitt students and alumni, will consist of an information table staffed by TSA personnel and offers individuals who are interested in learning more about the job the opportunity to ask TSA officers who are doing the job. It also allows applicants the chance to find out more about the hiring process.

TSA officers screen thousands of airline travelers daily, ensuring they arrive at their destinations safely. TSA expects to screen a greater volume of travelers regularly this summer and needs additional officers to support its security mission.
Applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields. New hires will receive extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and they are paid while undergoing training.
Benefits of working at TSA for both part- and full-time employees include paid training, annual and sick leave and strong health care plans. TSA is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and encourages individuals of all backgrounds to apply, including military veterans and persons with disabilities.
